Fire extinguisher inspection, service, and hydrostatic testing.
Annual inspection, six-year maintenance, and twelve-year hydrostatic testing — tracked per unit so the right service happens at the right interval, not whenever someone notices an old tag.
What extinguisher service covers
- Annual inspection and tagging physical condition, pressure, seals, hose, and mounting verified.
- Six-year maintenance stored-pressure units emptied, internally examined, and recharged.
- Twelve-year hydrostatic testing cylinder pressure tested to verify it can still safely hold charge.
- Recharge after use including after a discharge you may not have reported.
- Placement and travel distance review extinguishers where code requires them and where people can reach them.
- Signage and mounting corrections so units are visible and at a compliant height.
- Per-unit tracking each extinguisher carries its own history and its own next-due date.
Three things we do differently.
We track by unit, not by building.
Extinguishers in the same building are rarely on the same cycle — units get added during renovations and replaced after discharges. Tracking by building is how a twelve-year hydrostatic test gets missed on the four newest units.
We check placement, not just condition.
An extinguisher in perfect condition mounted behind a stack of boxes fails its purpose and fails inspection. Travel distance, visibility, and mounting height are part of every visit.
We tell you when a unit is not worth servicing.
Some older extinguishers cost more to hydrostatically test than to replace. We will show you the arithmetic instead of quietly billing the test.
What you receive after the visit.
Extinguisher work generates a lot of small records. Keeping them straight is most of the value.
Tagged units
Each extinguisher tagged with the service performed and the date.
Per-unit report
A digital record for every extinguisher, with its own next-due dates.
Deficiencies and quote
Missing, damaged, or misplaced units identified and priced.
Advance notice
We tell you what is coming due before it lapses.
Up to four extinguishers included with a monthly service agreement.
Customers on a monthly service agreement receive annual inspection and tagging for up to four extinguishers at no additional charge. Units beyond four are billed per unit, and six-year and twelve-year maintenance is quoted separately because it is a different scope of work.
Questions we get asked about this.
How many extinguishers does my building need?
It depends on square footage, occupancy classification, and the hazards present — a commercial kitchen, a paint storage area, and an open office all carry different requirements.
Travel distance is usually the governing factor: someone should not have to walk far to reach one. We assess this during the visit.
What is hydrostatic testing?
The cylinder is pressure tested to confirm it can still safely hold its charge. For most stored-pressure extinguishers this is required at twelve years.
A cylinder that fails is removed from service. Metal fatigue is not something you want discovered during a fire.
Can you service extinguishers we bought elsewhere?
Yes. Where they came from does not matter. We inspect, service, and track any extinguisher in the building, including ones added during a renovation that nobody told us about.
What happens if an extinguisher was discharged?
It needs recharging before it is back in service, and the discharge is worth investigating. An extinguisher used and re-hung without recharge is a hazard that looks like protection.
Tell us when it happens and we will handle the recharge on the next visit or sooner if the location warrants it.
Do you handle kitchen extinguishers differently?
Commercial kitchens require Class K extinguishers alongside the hood suppression system, and both are inspected on their own intervals.
Since we test hood suppression as well, both usually happen in the same visit.
Book an inspection
Tell us what is in the building and when it was last inspected. We establish the baseline, perform the work, and take over the calendar from there.
-
We call within one business day
To find a time that works around your operations, not ours.
-
A technician walks the property with you
Bring whatever documentation you have, or none at all. We document what is installed, what is missing, and what is coming due.
-
You receive a written plan and price
One plan for the whole property, phased across budget years if that is what the building needs.
-
Nothing else happens unless you say so
We do not chase. If the timing is wrong, tell us when to check back.
