Commercial life safety & security

Commercial security and life safety systems for Capital Region buildings.

We are one licensed contractor for the whole property — design, installation, inspection, monitoring, and service. Most of our customers came to us managing three or four vendors and a calendar nobody owned.

Six systems · One contractor

Everything in the building, covered by the same team.

Each system has its own page because each one is a real discipline. What they have in common is who is accountable for them.

Fire Alarm Systems

Design, installation, service, and annual inspection. Addressable and conventional panels, voice evacuation where occupancy requires it. Best for: apartment buildings, schools, hotels, and any facility with an annual AHJ inspection.

Fire alarm systems →

Access Control

Cloud-based access with ProdataKey. Manage every door across every site from one app, and cut a credential the same hour someone leaves. Best for: offices with turnover, multi-site operations, and buildings tired of re-keying.

Access control →

Security Cameras

Coverage designed around the incidents that matter, at a resolution that identifies rather than merely observes. Recorded on site, viewable from anywhere. Best for: loading docks, cash handling points, parking areas, and common spaces.

Security cameras →

Intrusion Detection

Motion, glass break, vibration, and hold-up detection placed where a break-in actually starts, monitored 24/7 by a UL-listed central station. Best for: retail, warehouses, offices, and any building empty overnight.

Intrusion detection →

Intercom & Entry

Video intercom and controlled entry that routes to a phone instead of a handset nobody answers, integrated with access control so entries are logged. Best for: apartment buildings, gated properties, and offices without a front desk.

Intercom & entry →

Structured Cabling

Low-voltage wiring, network drops, and fiber optic cabling and splicing — installed to standard, labeled, documented, and tested. Best for: new construction, renovations, and buildings with undocumented wiring.

How they work together

One system, not six that happen to share a building.

Integration is the part that is invisible until the moment it matters. Three examples from buildings we maintain:

Fire alarm releases the egress path

On activation, the fire alarm drops the mag locks and unlocks the doors people will actually run toward. Wired separately by two contractors, that interlock is the thing that fails inspection — or worse, fails during an evacuation.

Last badge-out arms the building

When the final credential leaves for the night, the intrusion system arms itself. Nobody forgets, nobody has to stay late to set it, and there is a record of who left last.

A forced door bookmarks the video

An access control event tags the camera clip at the same second. You find the incident in seconds instead of scrubbing six hours of footage looking for a timestamp.

Five steps

What happens after you call.

This is a real sequence, and it is the same for a single door and a 400-unit building.

01

Site survey

We walk the building and document what exists — including the systems someone else installed.

02

Design & proposal

One written plan, one price, phased across budget years if that is what the building needs.

03

Installation

Our own technicians, coordinated around your operations rather than the other way round.

04

Commissioning & training

Tested, documented, and your staff shown how to actually use it.

05

Inspection & service

We take over the compliance calendar and we keep it.

Building types

We know what your building type gets cited for.

A school, a restaurant kitchen, and a 200-unit apartment complex fail inspection for completely different reasons. The systems overlap; the obligations do not.

Proof

Work we can point at.

Two dealerships, full scope

Security alarm, cameras, and the network cabling and low-voltage infrastructure underneath both, at the Chrysler Dodge Jeep store in Clifton Park and at Greenwich Ford. When the cameras and the cable belong to one contractor, a fault is a repair rather than an argument.

Common questions

Questions we get on the first call.

Do you work with buildings that already have systems installed?

Most of our work is exactly that. We inherit buildings with a fire alarm from one contractor, cameras from an IT company, and extinguishers from whoever showed up last. The site survey documents what is there, what still works, and what has to change.

We will tell you when equipment is sound. Replacing a working panel to sell you a new one is not how we stay in business here.

Can you take over inspections for equipment you did not install?

Yes, and it is one of the most common ways customers start with us. We inspect and service systems from other manufacturers and other contractors.

If a system is beyond economical service, we will say so plainly and show you why rather than quietly failing it every year.

How is a site survey different from a quote?

A quote prices what you already asked for. A site survey establishes what the building actually needs — including things nobody has looked at in years, like emergency lighting batteries or an extinguisher that missed its six-year maintenance.

The survey takes about 45 minutes, costs nothing, and produces a written plan whether or not you hire us.

Do you subcontract any of the work?

Installation, service, and inspection are performed by our own technicians. That is the whole point of the single-contractor model — if we subcontracted, you would be back to managing vendors, just with our name on the invoice.

Monitoring is the one exception, and it is deliberate: signals are handled by Rapid Response Monitoring in Syracuse, a central station staffed around the clock.

Can a project be phased across budget years?

Yes. Many of our commercial customers are working against a capital budget that resets in July or January. We design the full scope, then sequence it so the code-required work happens first and the discretionary work follows.

You get one plan and one price for the whole property, broken into phases you can approve separately.

What areas do you serve?

Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park, Colonie, and the surrounding Capital Region. Our shop is on Central Avenue in Albany, which puts most of the region inside a 45-minute drive.

For emergency service, that drive time is the number that matters.

Request a site survey

We walk your building, document what you have, identify what is missing or coming due, and give you one written plan for the whole property. It takes about 45 minutes and costs nothing.

  • We call within one business day

To find a time that works around your operations, not ours.

  • A technician walks the property with you

Bring whatever documentation you have, or none at all. We document what is installed, what is missing, and what is coming due.

  • You receive a written plan and price

One plan for the whole property, phased across budget years if that is what the building needs.

  • Nothing else happens unless you say so

We do not chase. If the timing is wrong, tell us when to check back.
