What we work on in Troy.
Troy's building stock is among the oldest we work in — nineteenth-century commercial and mixed-use buildings downtown, a substantial student housing market around the colleges, and industrial buildings along the river in various stages of conversion.
Retrofit is the dominant mode of work in Troy. Historic buildings converted to apartments or offices need full life safety systems installed into structures with masonry walls, limited chases, and floor plans that were not drawn with egress lighting in mind.

Local proof — Troy
This page is set to noindex until the remaining items below are filled in. Doc 2 §5: eleven near-identical city pages is how a site gets flagged for doorway pages, and six strong city pages outrank eleven thin ones every time.
We troubleshot and repaired the fire alarm system at Paine Castle, 49 Second Street — the nineteenth-century house used as a filming location for The Gilded Age. It is the kind of building much of downtown Troy is made of, where a fire alarm system has to be worked around masonry construction rather than run through it, and where what you are allowed to touch is as much of a constraint as what you need to install.
We work with Troy code enforcement directly. When a building needs a fire inspection we contact the fire chief at the Troy Fire Department, who assigns the fire inspector — it is a phone call to the department rather than a form on a portal, and knowing that is the difference between a week’s delay and none. Code enforcement remains the office for building, permitting and housing matters.
Troy operates a fire alarm registration, which most of the municipalities around it do not. A system is expected to be on the city register, and that is separate from passing its annual inspection — a building can be fully compliant on test and still be missing from the register.
Response time to Troy is typically within two hours, and that holds across every area we list. Drive time is the number quoted at the top of this page; this is how long it takes to get somebody moving.
